I was going to list other shows... but I realized that I only need to start and stop with Jersey Shore. Reality television is a cheap alternative to actually having to write a script or put any work in except for sitting there with a camera. The only really good shows are on Showtime: Dexter, Weeds, etc.

Along the same lines, this would probably make the issue worse. Based on that tag, people are going to simply assume security and privacy where there is none.

Televisions seems to be doing just fine in my opinion. It's putting out a poorer and poorer product and making money hand over fist. Advertisers wouldn't be shelling out the kind of money if people we're watching.

I'm going to take a devil's advocate approach here. You've subscribed to a service and signed some sort of contract. That contract probably stated that you can use the service in a certain predescribed manner. If you use it in any other manner, you are probably in breach of that contract. If you don't like the terms of that contract, there are many different legal options including choosing no options and obtaining televisions shows ad-hoc across the internet for a small fee.

If your cable provider wanted to actually make a few bucks, maybe they'd provide an authenticated way to access your service via the internet... but that would make way too much sense.

Lawyers can't stop the march of the technological progress... but they can sure as hell slow it down. Stopping the sale of devices they deem to be illegal, etc. Big companies slow technological progress until they can figure out a way to turn a profit... and they probably will eventually find a way.

Time for them for fork and start their own state.

Yeah, I guess it'll be exactly like the app store without all the blatant censorship of "distasteful content". If you want to download malware, go outside android's official app store... I suppose its nice being able to decide.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't really know a single person who has this phone, but phantom 3rd party data seems like is would be software installed by the carrier. MS just doesn't want to throw whoever the carrier is under the bus. When I got my Droid phone, there was a bunch of bloatware installed by Verizon. That's just my guess... it could be the NSA or the FBI or NASA for all I know.

This is just one practical application. *Puts on tin foil hat* What about a comparable government system mining for certain terrorism related keywords? I can think of 100's of more dangerous applications to this type of software, and I don’t even have to be the person who has it installed. I find that particularly frightening.

... so you better start making smarter phones and more rigorous guidelines for app store approval. Problem solved.

I don't necessarily see the comparison between android locking down its app store to potential malware versus the Apple app store locking down its store because they don't like apps that are in "poor taste". One is clear cut censorship and the other is meant as preventitive security measure.

If it were more culturally or socially relevant, there probably would have been more sources out there. Sounds like a small community of people are upset that nobody took the time to write about their favorite game.

If we get rid of political corruption, the rest should take care of itself.

If all you use is the streaming service, they lowered your plan :-D.
