Is there a cause and effect issue here? For example, meditation changes our brain. New pathways, connections are made via learning, focusing. We generate this, we drive this and can control it. We somehow decide these directions, if we choose. The specific neural signals are the result of these choices, the result of our activity, driven by personality or consciousness.
