mcgrew writes: Computerworld is reporting yet another breach of Sony's laughable (it must be) security, saying $1,200 worth of "virtual tokens" have been taken.

The same article notes that F-Secure has discovered a phishing site in Thailand that's hosted on Sony's servers.

phy_si_kal writes: Today, a secretive startup from Paris, France has announced that it will open source the Opa technology it has been developing for some time.
Opa is a one-tier web technology (right, that means only one layer at runtime) where Opa source code is compiled into a standalone binary. And, this could be really a game changer in the cloud era as it handles distribution very easily.
Sadly, the code is not yet available but a 171-page manual and tutorial is already available (registration required) and packages seem on the wild.

Time to choose the open source license. What do you think? Should be go copyleft all the way, to encourage contributing back? Or non-copyleft to appeal commercial users? We have made a survey for this (results are public of course).

Indeed, Office 2011 for Mac (beta 5 at least) uses Freetype! Screenshot at: http://i35.tinypic.com/jazx2t.jpg
Somehow they figured out the free software "clean room implementation" of their own (patented) TrueType technology must better suit their needs.

This seems quite strange, if we consider that AdWords was the first miracle for Google's business in 2000.
Do people really want to see video ads? Isn't it even more disturbing than banners? I hate the flash video ads in imdb for example. In the beginning, they even had sound turned on by default!
Google isn't completely stupid, since they won't try this on their own site... Maybe only a move to suggest bad ideas to its competitors ;)
