Comment Program something of substance! (Score 1) 293

I'll echo some of the other sentiment here, program something!

Most of the popular languages these days can all do pretty much the same things as each other, the real challenge is being able to pull it all together and make an application that does something useful.

I would suggest putting together a game. It's a good challenge in your language of choice (in this case java) and a finished game is a good example of your ability as a coder to show to others and proof of your ability to yourself (in case you were doubting yourself).

Indeed, why hasn't it happened yet?

You would think there would be any number of Iraqi or Afghani nationals and sympathizers living abroad with access to the sophisticated infrastructure and possess the knowledge required to carry out one of these attacks.

So, why hasn't it happened yet? If it's as easy and devastating as you assert, why isn't it happening all the time?

In my opinion, it's not as easy as you suggest, and the personal penalties for getting caught engaging in "cyber terrorism" far outweigh the potential damage you can inflict.

Comment There's an AI in there! (Score 1) 218

There seems to be an AI inside. Try "What is your name" and "How old are you". It knows who it is, but other attempts at conversation are blocked ("how are you feeling", comes back as under development). Very interesting, can anybody else find anything that suggests this really is an AI and more than just a computational engine?
