Average Linux Users Excuse of why "This is A Bad Thing": But.... but.... but.... that's waste and bloated code! My 450KB hard drive will be filled in no time!

Meanwhile the rest of use will go on not caring that the same 30kb of code is being duplicated 10 times on our 2TB disk drive.

That's cool, I'm going to come knock on your door for the next three years. The knocking is just a bit of a nuisance and since you've done your part and locked me out all is well right?

Somehow I feel that if I did that I would be looking at a solution that comes from the point of a government gun.

Something solid state would be my guess. It makes sense to refer to the new solid state drives as a "hard drive" since that is what its replacing but I feel the term "hard drive" is being used to refer to the drives that use platters and other mechanics.

Hard Disk Drive = HDD = Platters
Solid State Drive = SDD = Not mechanical.

Yeah, it really sucks.

I'm really hopeful that one day they will increase the size of hard drives, memory density, etc..

I know you Linux folks are ultra cheap and seem to think no new hardware has ben produced in ages, and thats cool. But really, if you ask anyone you know if they recently bought a new computer I'm sure they could give you a hell of a deal on that old P133 Packard Bell.

Some places have the lights directly overhead, some place them off to the side of the road, some are in the middle of the intersection suspended by crossed wires...

I have traveled extensively inside the USA and have never seen one such occurence.
I haven't traveled very extensively at all and have seen all of the above... perhaps you're not paying very close attention? Back to the main point though, I wouldn't exactly call them blue (the ones I've seen anyway) they are just not the same primary green your accustomed too and are more of a teal color.

I just had really good luck with 7 (x64) and some old software today

SO in case anyone is wondering Ultra Viewer IV works in 7, While not all that old, EFI's Color Burst software also runs, I am assuming it rips OK as well.

7 downloads and installs hasp drivers when the usb keys are attached, was pretty nice being able to skip that install.

These would work.... if they planted the balloons several years ago. The satellite photos aren't anywhere near current and I highly doubt the street view images are updated with any great frequency.
