This is what I've seen in the news: Toyota says there is a mechanical fault in the accelerator pedal, that may cause it to get physically stuck down. This is extremely rare, but possible. To fix it, they add a little extra piece to the pedal. Sound like a duct-tape solution, but if it works, then okay.
Did Toyota lie to us, and actually added a patch to the software instead?

If google backs down on this, It's going to lose reputation everywhere, including China. So it looks like it's going to be goodbye china for them. They may be back when the dust has settled.

They will X-ray all your stuff, they may check them more closely - by just a random pick or if they are suspicious for some reason. That will probably tell more about you than what your genitals look like (chances are they are just typical normal genitals). If they think you might have some narcotics stuck in your ass, they will physically intrude your body to try and find them.
Since you can put only a fraction of passengers through the scanners, the real problem is that how you use them scanner. It may be a real humiliation to the people picked. So, you cannot pick by race, religion and stuff like that. Random? - Okay but doesn't really stop any terror attempts. Maybe you are on some CIA watchlist, which doesn't necessarily make you a terrorist, but other passengers will think you may be a terrorist, even if you ware picked by random.

They were on the brink of dumping Opel too, but then realized that Insignia is selling like hotcakes. That and the new Astra are possibly two most competent products Opel has ever had, with innovative design that can be adapted to American models too. Probably smart decision to old onto that.

There has been several attemps to "DRM" media, all of them have failed. There is no indicaion that future DRM:s would work. They have only made legal fair use of the product more difficult. This will keep going on and the only ones that will benefit is the companies that sell DRM software and chips. The industry loses, the customers lose, the middle hand selling solutioons they cannot produce - wins.
