Comment uh, same ole IBM (Score 2) 55

IBM has always (?) used this practice. If you can get people to quit, it costs a lot less money. There are often times rules and regulations (sometimes pretty severe in certain places). If a person voluntarily quits, things are much easier. IBM is king of this. And allows their "numbers" with regards to layoffs to look really good.
