Yea, I realized a while back that for a travel site anyone using IE6 was either too technologically backwards to do online businesses or too cheap to have any money to do it. The remaining people are on corporate networks, and just wasting company time wishing they were somewhere else (big spikes around 4-5 PM from each time zone) or wishing they had a real browser.

I can speak from experience that some of the Thinkpad software is not crap, but actually improves the operating of the computer.

Under IBM the battery and power scheme setups were a lot better at maintaining battery life. Some of these hardware manufacturers actually know what their hardware does and the best way to manage it!

How many people out there consider the hours of work this upgrade will take to be free as well? Everyone who purchased a computer has obviously been using it for months, and chances are the majority of them won't know how to or be too afraid to attempt the upgrade themselves. $17 really is irrelevant compared to what they will expect a lot of you on here to do for them. Would anyone here charge under $100 to babysit a stranger's PC while this was going on?

I think you completely missed the point.
Adobe is a huge company, with tons of resources, and they are shipping TODAY an insecure version that is the cause of most zombied / spyware infested computers in the past few months.
All they have to do is put the patched version on their freaking download page!
