No, the question is, is our children learning? Your sentence makes no sense to people who know what "begs the question" means. You seem to think it means "raises the question", but it doesn't.

You seem to know what "begs the question" means, yet somehow OP's idea has been conveyed to you via what I can only assume is some supernatural ether. Is there a latin phrase accepted by academics describing this phenomenon?

wenck writes: "With primary elections weeks away, Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner has organized a series of forums on college campuses around the state of Ohio to discuss the results of the state's recent comprehensive voting system study (Project EVEREST). Online Sex Offender Database Leads To Murder? 1001

nem75 writes "The LA Times reports on the story of Michael A. Dodele, a convicted rapist, found murdered in a Lakeport trailer park. He moved there after having been released from prison just 35 days before. A 29-year-old construction worker has been arrested in the attack, and explained that he killed Dodele to protect his son from child molestation. He found out on the internet about Dodele being a sex offender, via the 'Megan's Law' database. The public entry for Dodele in the database was wrong — though he was found guilty of committing crimes against adult women he was not a child molester. Dodele's entry in Megan's Law DB has been removed." Update: 12/11 15:51 GMT by Z : Moved link to non-reg article.

HOW OLD IS THE GRAND CANYON? PARK SERVICE WON'T SAY — Orders to Cater to Creationists Makes National Park Agnostic on Geology
Grand Canyon National Park is not permitted to give an official estimate of the geologic age of its principal feature, due to pressure from Bush administration appointees.
Also,
Park officials have defended the decision to approve the sale of Grand Canyon: A Different View, claiming that park bookstores are like libraries, where the broadest range of views are displayed. ... "As one park geologist said, this is equivalent of Yellowstone National Park selling a book entitled Geysers of Old Faithful: Nostrils of Satan,"
How very sad. Thank you Bush Administration and Creationists for deliberately dumbing down our country and its citizens. If they are selling that book at the gift shoppe, they should also sell the alternate book explaining how and when the FSM carved the Grand Canyon with His noodly appendage."

Submission + - Dell will Partition your Hard Drive out of the box

Szaman2 writes: "Most PC vendors nowadays ship their machines with a single windows partition spanning the whole drive. In order to set up a dual boot system you usually need to resize the windows partition (which is not always possible) or format the drive and install both operating systems from scratch. Dell decided to make the life of dual boot enthusiasts easier, and is not offering to partition your hard drive out of the box for a nominal charge."
