By unifying video and audio into a single cable manufacturers have been able to make their products easier to set up than ever before
in 1985 we'd hook up our VCR to the TV with a single coax cable...
You don't need PROOF to get a subpoena, if you had PROOF, you could go straight to the trial.
Let's do the math...new dell laptop that is now 'used'...optimistically $1500 for a higher end laptop. Insurance deductible, is probably no less than $500 probably $750 or $1000.
So the insurance company will be out $500-$1000, and will raise rates to recoup some of that.
How hard do you think they'll work?
Actually the Ferraris from the early 80s aren't particularly highly valued, neither are the Porsches from that era - they generally are underpowered due to the perception of a gas shortage at that time.
One would do well with a mid to late 70's ferrari - still carbeurated and significantly more powerful than an 80-85.
the energy imparted to an object by wind is basically area x density of air x speed.
given a constant wind speed and density you find you need a specific area 'A' to propel a mass forward.
You then double the area 'A' - what happens to all the extra energy you are inputting into the system? All you need to do is find a way to use this extra energy for forward propulsion and you will find a way to go faster than the wind, which apparently these guys have done, contrary to the supposed impossibility of it.
If they were to privatize Dell, the stockholders would more than likely make out like bandits as the offer has to be accepted by the majority of shareholders which generally means the offer is very favourable to the shareholders.
When did the Apple tablet come out?> the newton? I believe people said about the same to it.
Technology changes - what didn't work before won't necessarily fail now.
Watch HP with WebOS. Watch Google, when they get around to doing a real tablet version of Android. Watch Apple (obviously). And watch Microsoft, when it eventually occurs to them that they need to do a tablet version of Windows Phone 7 rather than pushing desktop Windows 7 on tablets.
Uhhh...from the article...
the ASUS Eee Pad will be available in 10-inch (EP101TC) and 12-inch (EP121) variants, and offer Windows Embedded Compact 7 and Windows 7 Home Premium respectively
revenue generation features for third-party developers built into the system
Asustek was also working with Intel and Microsoft to push out its own version of an app store, Shih said
Will they do a good job? Maybe, maybe not, however they certainly aren't oblivious...
Why would you want Windows on a tablet? Even if they somehow got the OS to work right with a tablet - which I can't imagine since it'd mean a total redesign of the OS
Well it wouldn't be a redesign of the OS, just a redesign of the interface. Apple already 'redesigned' OSX for the iPhone and Android has done the same with Linux, so clearly that isn't impossible.
is there an option to buy a subscription to the ipad version? How much does it cost?
Have you used an Incredible? I switched from a 3G and have not noticed any user experience deficiencies. In fact when it comes to things like sharing photos via email/mms/social networking sites, it is way ahead.
. They just didn't have a chance to getting working along with everything else they had to make happen to get the iPad out in a reasonable time frame.
iPhoto, not so much...

I'm guessing the marketroids held it back to provide incentive for future 'upgrade sales'
I'll be the minority here because I've used both an iPad and a windows 7 tablet (Asus T91MT). Windows 7 does a good job at handling touch events, and passing them to non-touch aware apps.
I have the choice between an iPad and a Windows 7 tablet, and I choose the Win 7 tablet.
