The article makes a fair point. If everyone is allowed to copy everyone else (and they already are anyway including Apple), the only way for a company to distinguish itself is to innovate faster than the competition can copy. This actually promotes innovation, not stifle it.

Yeah that puzzled me too. This is what I think they meant. 500 + 30% = 650 which is an increase of 150/year. Over the 7 year contract that comes out to 1050. There is your billion dollars.

I just bought a Galaxy S3 two days ago. It's huge and I absolutely love it. As long as it fits in my pocket, the bigger the better.
