Submission + - Security a Concern as HTML5 Advances (threatpost.com)

Trailrunner7 writes: Every technology innovation has its coming out party, and Google Inc.'s recent "dancing balls" logo experiment was widely interpreted as a high-impact debut for the next version of HTML, dubbed HTML5. But web security experts are warning that the sprawling new Web standard may favor functionality over security, enabling a new generation of powerful Web based attacks.

Web security experts agree that there are security enhancements in HTML5, but all expressed the same concern: that the new specification will greatly increase the "attack surface" of HTML — providing more avenues by which malicious code can be delivered through the Web.

"HTML5 has an enormous amount of functionality. The (specification) is just huge," said Jeremiah Grossman of Web security firm WhiteHat. The breadth of the new specification gives him concern. "I know that we're still finding vulnerabilities in HTML4," Grossman said.

What sucks is that other company will notice that this game failed, and it could of been the business plan. It would be terrible if they decide that this business plan was a poor choice and other companies might never try it again. It was a great plan for people who don't have the time to play a game all the time.

That's about the sane reason to use twitter. I like following people who are working on projects or movies or something intresting and I can keep myself updated. Following someone who is just going to Tweet how their day was doesn't seem all that intresting.

3 Drinks a Day Keeps the Doctor Away Screenshot-sm 470

Nzimmer911 writes "Heavy drinkers outlive non-drinkers according to a 20 years study following 1,824 people. From the article: 'But a new paper in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research suggests that - for reasons that aren't entirely clear - abstaining from alcohol does actually tend to increase one's risk of dying even when you exclude former drinkers. The most shocking part? Abstainers' mortality rates are higher than those of heavy drinkers.'"
