It may be Microsoft inspired, but this statement is hardly as inflammatory as the headline makes it out to be. In fact the entire article seemed to be as middle of the road as you can get.

Apple's multi touch patents were acquired when they bought FingerWorks, a company who primarily made keyless keyboards. I knew someone who swore it was the best thing since sliced bread.

The keyboards go for a lot of money now on ebay since the company stopped production after they were bought.

I think you've hit it right on the head. The Java platform is strong because of the high quality third party frameworks and libraries, almost all of which rely on apache/jakarta libraries.

How about a sim city without the awful EA-THE SIMS UI treatment?
