It seems to me unlikely that Interpol would become involved in a single sexual assault case unless pressured/persuaded to by significant state members, and by that I dont mean Sweden. In conclusion, that he is now wanted by interpol leads me to believe, where I didnt have certainty before, this is definitely a character assassination, most probably being played out by the US government (they have the most to gain with his demise after all)

This is actually a very smart move, by masking their actions behind political or even religious ideals (providing they dont actually support that cause), they will confuse people into looking into more details than need be. Could quite easily be a group in America with no affiliation to Iran, meaning they have achieved their goal of misdirection extremely well.

Submission + - Should the Patent Authority be Outlawed

previewlounge writes: Amazon patented the "one-click" purchase button .. or system ... or technique ...

Is this a methodology? Is this an intellectual property? If so, who cares? Amazon does, and so do hundreds of thousands of patent applicants applying for their own patents.

Facebook has patented the GPS-based social network function of "automatically locating web-based social network members".
Facebook did not develop GPS systems, and neither did Amazon develop the system of commerce, the system of purchasing at shops.
To purchase by clicking one button is common sense. To allow a patent on this, is (imho) an offense against society and commerce.

Where does common sense start and commercially enforceable "ownership" begin?

If a patent is granted, a wide range of implications accompany this; most importantly for general populations, the implications are financial ... and creative.

This Patent Authority who gives out these patents is supported by law, however if the general good of society is being compromised, should the systems and methods be allowed to be patented? Should the international network of Patent and Trademark Offices be outlawed?

Submission + - New CCTV site in UK pays people to watch

pyrosine writes: Have you ever felt like being paid for watching live CCTV footage?
The BBC are reporting CCTV site, "Internet Eyes" is doing exactly that. Offering up to £1000 to people who report suspicious activity, the scheme seems an easy way to make money.
Not everyone is pleased with the scheme though, the Information Commissioner's Office is worried it will lead to voyeurism or misuse, but what difference does it make when you can find said webcams with a simple google search?

Submission + - Dead mouse found in bread loaf 1

pyrosine writes: It seems food standards are slipping in the UK when a dad found a dead mouse embedded in his loaf of bread as he made his children sandwiches.
Disgusted, he called his local council's environmental health council who confirmed this, not before serving his children their sandwiches first though!
