Submission + - AZ Allows Concealed Carry w/o Traning or Permit (azstarnet.com)

DIplomatic writes: The Wild West is about to get wilder — on Thursday, Arizona will join Alaska and Vermont as one of the states with the country's most liberal gun laws.
Senate Bill 1108 removes the requirement that gun owners must be trained and licensed to carry a concealed weapon.
DPS spokesman Bart Graves said the agency expects a decrease in applications for concealed-weapons permits once the law goes into effect. But he, along with many supporters of the new law, said he hopes people who want to carry weapons will still seek out some form of training.
Josh Katz, owner of The Armory on Pima, says he supports the new law because it strengthens the Second Amendment. But he urges people to get education and training in the use of their guns and their rights and legal responsibilities as gun owners.
"Let me be clear — I'm not opposed," he said. "The law passing is good, but people need to have some of the education involved in training for the license to carry concealed."

Here's the thing guys: Basic classroom evolution is a model for how species grow and change over time. NOT, I repeat, NOT how the first life on Earth came into existence. You can believe whatever and however you want about the origins of life but evolution is a genuine process that has literally been observed in a laboratory.

Creationists: if you feel threatened, please move your fight to the origins of the universe, but as your name implies, your theory has nothing to add after the moment of creation.

I... well, it's complicated.

My boss will routinely design intricate dream levels and then ask me to enter the dreams of a rival and extract corporate secrets. I haven't run in to any legal trouble yet but I do have to watch out for the dreamer's projections. They get very hostile if I take to long in the dream world.

Does this help you? I'm sorry... I'm having a lot of trouble focusing right now...

...Have we met before, or was I dreaming??

Submission + - NextParadigms  Swype to Replace Your Keyboar (nextparadigms.com)

nextparadigms writes: Now, how about this recent photo leak: Swype on Windows 7. If this isn't a sign that Swype will soon replace all the virtual keyboards on multitouch screens(and even the physical ones), then I don't know what is. Swype first appeared on Windows Mobile 6.5 phones, and only recently started to appear on Android devices, if you were lucky enough to get yourself a beta release when they launched it in 2 two-day sessions this year. I believe it will soon become available not only to all Android phones, but to all known OS's meant for touchcreen phones, tablets, and even other kind of devices.

Rather than try and dumb down the internet to what is suitable for 8-year-olds, I would rather raise children to be mature and handle adult content.

The irony here is regardless of some law, young kids see crazy hardcore sh*t on the internet every day. So I guess I'm revising my first sentence to say that I would rather raise the maturity of adults to cope with the fact that kids can handle adult content.

I agree with you, but in this day and age I can't seem to go two days without some website asking for personal information. I don't use my real info whenever I can, but I couldn't tell you how many companies have my home address or phone number
