Comment Re:Economy Class (Score 1) 365

I couldn't agree more.

The security at the airport is good for picking out acute unstable persons, such as d dismayed and betrayed husband that has decided to bring an axe or a can of gasoline to go out in "a blaze of glory" and have his cheating wife being guilty while she watches the news. Those won't get on the plane.

But if some terrorists really decides to take out a plane, what is to stop them? Proper planning would get them a long way to get past any feeble security measures. They could even get some ground to air missiles to blow it out of the sky.

What we'll see coming is a shift from planes being hijacked and bombed, to trains and busses. Or attacks on train stations, or possibly even the aiports themselves. WHy settle for a plane with ~250 passengers, when you can incapacitate an entire airport with the same bomb?

For us other passengers it's just getting closer to 100% inconvenience. The most irritating part as I see it is that I'm not allowed to bring my own food and drink anymore. Wouldn't be so bad if you could get a decent meal for a decent price, but when you have to buy a can of coke for like 5 times the price in the grocery store, it's nothing short of a rip-off.

Yeah, I'd rather go fully fed and satified than hungry. And in any case, I didn't climb to the top of the food chain just to feed from the bottom.

That said, a good steak is nothing without the company of some well selected and properly prepared vegetables. Baked potatoes, steamed broccoli and some corn with slices of pear is a favourite. And a nice, hot pepper sauce.

Yeah, and hou about e.g. photoshop that (at least on my mac) looks like a good handful of small, separate windows?

For the record, though, I suppose the poll author wasn't counting tabs in browsers (If so, I'm well above 50+), so I didn't count them.

Being a mac user, I used expose to crimp all my windows so they could be easily counted.

Computer guys (or gals) are the secretaries that hammer their keyboard and print out letters and invoices all day long. They are probably using their computers more that the "computer guys" that try to find the broken cables, and new place for the larger server rack, etc. They just don't know anything about how they work.

Yes, I have, actually. Well, not on paper, but in Norway, being registered to the same address as your partner and having children together essentially gives you the same rights and obligations than having that paper with a stamp on it does.

In my opinion, the relationship and the children is what really makes you "married".

AFAIK meter is always m, never M. And if used as m (for meters) on roadsigns, they would probably be used a short distance before a left/right turn, yield sign etc. If distance of approximately a mile is written in metric, it would probably be measured in km.

I know you're pulling everybodys leg here, but it IS actually possible to boil water at 100 degrees Fahrenheit, as long as preasure is low enough.

To try it out, just take an empty syringe, fill it half way with water, hold your finger over the opening and pull the piston. The vacuum will make the water boil. It doesn't get any hotter, though, and don't expect to be boiling any eggs this way. ;-)
