Work on a remote environmnet with a very low bandwidth connection that would make you wait between screens more than 30 seconds making something that with a good connection would take 1 sec, and baby sit a process for two hours that could be done in 2 min with the correct connection?
Sixteen years ago, I was punished to work on a 486 while the rest of the team was on pentiums cause of me messing with the boxes. It hurts as hell.
Two years later I was baby sitting remote processes over PCAnywere out of a 28k modem connection. Ouch.
Today I am being asked to work on a remote UNIX server, through a VPN, X forwarding through ssh,...
Can I refuse to work under those conditions? I feel that I would end brain dead working so slow.
