Sometimes we fight our own country and commit illegal acts, specifically because breaking the law is the ethical thing to do. For instance: The revolutionary war which led to the creation of the United States of America was totally illegal and involved attacking our government's (British) troops. Manning's actions were those of an idealistic revolutionary. Nothing more or less.

Since when is shutting off your mind, your moral compass and proceeding to "carry out their orders to the t" make you a man?

A man (or woman) questions authority.
A man (or woman) thinks for themself and doesn't just blindly follow orders.
A man (or woman) will risk their own life for their ideals.
A man (or woman) is willing to DIE for a cause, not KILL for a cause.

They boast something about the tallest stills in Scotland and imply the high still results in a very pure spirit and hence makes a smoother whiskey, which I think it is. That is what I specifically like about the Glenmorangie. I don't like peatiness or smokiness which seems to be so common with Scotch whiskeys. I realize that that smokiness is intentional and desirable in Scottish whiskey making and therefore drink Irish or if Scotch, then strictly Glenmorangie. If you would be so kind, would you please recommend any of the above with that prioritization of qualities (smooth and less smokey)?

You have entirely failed to convince me. However, this law professor and police detective have me convinced of their argument.

My guess would be Davenport, IA - Bettendorf, IA - Moline, IL - Rock Island, IL. Between the four cities (and East Moline, IL which is sometimes included and they are then called the quint-cites) and the surrounding hamlets, there are about 500,000 people in the "Quad Cities".

The Arsenal Island, a island in the middle of the Mississippi River, sits in the middle of the four. The Arsenal Island is a moderately large military complex that primarily manufactures arms. Legend tells that is was ranked 25th on the Soviet strike list during a certain point of the Cold War. (Legend also tells that that there is an extensive undergound bunker that under the Mississipi which extends for miles.) Jerry Lewis visited Moline, IL once and had some rather nasty things to say about it. In my experience, people from the "QC" have all of the rudeness of the rudest New Yorker while having all the the close-minded, limited worldview you stereotype mid-westerners as having. The worst of the farm belt and the big city all in one place.

On the up side, there is a strong local art and theatre scene there.

I have had a 100% success rate playing movies on my PS3. Every single DVD and Blu-ray has played without a single hiccup.

My problem with streaming, DVR and live Sat/Cable is the much more limited bitrate of the encoded content compared to Blu-ray. This leads to terrible reconstruction when playing certain scenes with high action or extreme lighting. This can be blacks that are not totally black, scenes with strobe lights or muzzle flashes in them becoming filled with compression artifacts as there is a much higher variation in one frame to the next than can be expressed in the smaller encoded bitrate. Also, Blu-ray being able to do both 30/1.001 fps and 24 fps (depending on the source) allows a degree of fidelity not possible with DVD, streaming or broadcast.

I do hate the DRM. I really do hate it.

I love the quality, though. Nothing else holds a candle to it.
