Also many European countries still have a form of soft theocracy. Ie, Sweden had Lutheranism as the state religion until 2020; and people born there would automatically be members of the church before then.
Having a state religion is not the same as being any sort of theocracy. It can easily be the opposite by putting the major religion under the control of the state. That, at least, was what happened here in Denmark. While priests and bishops can (and do) participate in political debates, it is illegal for them to use the church as a platform for propaganda. And the state church is not allowed to be political either. Or to be more blunt: The state church and the clergy as a group are politically neutered.
There are a lot of plastic items that should be pretty simple to clean and reuse. It might involve making containers a bit more durable, but if it is x2 the amount of plastic for x25 the number of uses, it is still a win. Furthermore, one of the major problems with recycling plastic is that you don't know what sort of plastic you have available. If it is already sorted, it is also a lot more feasible to recycle.
But not all plastic is easily reusable. A plastic bag for cheese is difficult to clean and seal.

It takes about 2 weeks from infection to hospitalization and a week more to death. The first case of Omicron in Denmark was detected on November 22nd, and the initial spread was primarily among the 20-29 year olds. Even early this week, half the known Omicron cases are in the age group 18-39. This group predominantly do not get hospitalized, especially if they are vaccinated (and around 80% in that age group are fully vaccinated).
At a press conference a few days before Christmas, Henrik Ullum (head of Statens Serum Institut) revealed that the taking the profile of the infected into account, the early and very unreliable result was that Omicron was about as bad as Delta.
As long as we don't know, it makes sense to cry Wolf to avoid it getting out of hand.
The virus did spread from human to mink, between mink and back to humans. So it is definitely possible. The reason that we haven't seen it in a wild population could be lack of testing?
Having said that, the mink were being kept in small cages stacked on top of each other (I would call that animal cruelty, but there is a lot of money in mink farming), so the virus had perfect means to spread that it would not have had in the wild. On the other hand, the mink farmers were unable to stop the virus from spreading between the farms. It could be due to incompetence on their part, but it could also be wild animals that got infected by the mink and transported the virus between the farms.
