I'm tired of people complaining about how they're stuck with IE6 at their company and can't install other programs. Why not download Portable Firefox which requires no installation and use that?

I've always thought the books I see in people's offices are just trophies they're showing off stating "I know this language" or "I know that topic". I've actually never seen a co-worker use one of the books either. I agree with some of the other posters, that it's just easier to search Google for something.

I think If I became homeless (or even the months leading up to becoming homeless) I'd probably resort to joining one of the branches of the military. Sure getting yelled at all day might suck, but at least I'd have 3 hots and a cot.

A friend of mine was a help desk worker at a cable company and had a funny story. A lady called in saying her internet was down. After about 30 minutes on the phone trying to diagnose the problem he figured out that her power was out in house.

I guess at the end of the day, we just need to remember that we're being paid regardless if the end user is smart or stupid.
