Trailrunner7 writes: "Both Windows and Unix have been hit with numerous rootkits in the last few years, but Macs have been immune. Until now. Mac hacker and author of "The Mac Hacker's Handbook" will unveil a new Mac kernel-mode rootkit that takes advantage of OS X's Mach OS heritage. The rootkit, called Machiavelli, gives the attacker complete control of a remote machine and is quite difficult to detect, according to an interview with Dai Zovi on Threatpost.com."

Neil writes: "The official Google Blog features an announcement this morning that the company is going ahead with plans to develop the Chrome browser into a fully-fledged operating system distribution, targeted at x86 and ARM netbooks. The project is separate from Android, but is also based on a Linux kernel and will be open sourced. It is lated for release to consumers in the second half of 2010."

Make sure you rescanned the box after yesterday. TV stations were switching from their temporary ATSC frequencies (typically UHF) to their permanent frequencies (which may or may not be the same) throughout the day on Saturday. If it doesn't fix it, check http://www.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/maps/ and see if the channels are still available in your area (weak signals will probably will not be received, unless you have a badass antenna)...

Now I might be wrong given the pretext of the article but isn't that a tad more likely than transference by someone sodomising an ape.

You might be appalled by this, but in third world countries, people are taught that the initial AIDS transmission occurred after someone "had relations" with an ape. At least I was taught that by a "abstinence only" group that gave a lecture back when I used to go to middle school in Mexico...
