Next step would be to replace the GNU tool chain in Linux so we can end the pathetic GNU/Linux thing forever.

You have always been able to get multiple apps doing sound. You've just not been able to individually control the sound levels before. OSSv4 allows you to do this too.
Like many things in life if your alternatives worked they'd be using them. There's no big conspiracy out there.
Ubuntu is popular, people would find some way to bitch about it regardless.
Canonical is a privately held company. It has no legal obligation to "make more money" as you put it. Where you see this as a money grab others are seeing it as a convenient feature.
But I never game under Linux because the open source drivers are slow as ass.
You never game yet you know that it's slow. Awesome.
MS keeps a stable graphics API, something Linux never figured out how to do.
Cool, give me a real practical example. You can't. Well if you did game on linux, you'd know that this is bullshit. I still have linux games such as introversion's Uplink (2001 release) that still works fine on linux.
Just admit you have no idea what you're talking about apart from these FUD points windows users bring up whenever "linux" and "gaming" are mentioned in the same sentence.
It's already viable for games. I have plenty of native linux games (read over 20) that were release in the last 4 years. The problem isn't in it's viability, it's convincing people that it's viable and having them unlearn all the FUD or "experience" they gained 10 or even 5 years ago when they first tried linux out.
Lots of new start ups are doing this type of management scheme. Github is another company that just lets people work on whatever, however they want.
The state of the art at the moment seems to be this device if you're interested on the subject.
Regardless of it being a dick move..
> So, let's allow a bunch of people to get hacked because the developer doesn't meet your standards.
If it's breakable then it's just poor security. This isn't tabs or spaces. This is either you can break into someones account or you can't.
Even people in Thailand don't give a shit about this. Everyone whose seen this news over here thinks it's stupid.
Maybe it's because no one else bothers to meet him and tell him that it's a stupid idea. Instead they just sit on the internet whining.
> Sweden - unlike the UK - has never been an ally of the USA.
The pirate bay case proves you wrong on that.
He hasn't been charged with any crime, he needs to go to sweden to "answer questions".
The US want to legally jail him up for life and parade him around on TV as an example to everyone else. It's not about getting revenge it's about using him as an example to the rest of us.
