Comment Re:Has anyone bought a used EV or hybrid? (Score 2) 156

I didn't buy them used but I have two old EVs. One is 8,5 years old and the other is just past 5 years.

The oldest one has lost probably 15% of maximum charge capacity, but other parts has also degraded so it now uses 180wh/km, not the ~140wh/km it did initially - so range is reduced by more than 15%. Still works for our use case, we rarely drive it more than 40-50 km a day.
The 5 year old one has lost less than 5% of maximum charge capacity and the charging speed when fast-charging has been reduced somewhat (difficult to estimate, not many data points for fast-chargning the past 12 months).

Your first statement might be true, but the second one is not.
No other car comes close to AP v2 in a production car you can buy today. Audi made big claims, but they have given up on their level 3 system in the A8.
The truth is that the 2014 APv1 is better than most 2020 driver assist systems.

Quick refilling.
Stations everywhere.

The time you save by not having to go to gas stations is at least a order of magnitude higher than the time spent waiting for the car to recharge.
You simply cannot beat filling up in your own garage and waking up with a full tank every morning.
