Personally I've tried many IDE's in the past and they're all just incredibly horribly horrible. Kate is all I need, perfect syntax highlighting, just the right amount of shortcuts, support for any language imaginable and text completion for certain things. No fancy code completion, no weird restrictions on what I can comfortably do and an embedded console.
For everything else, there's google and the appropriate language/library doc found online.

Anecdotal evidence everyone is probably familiar with seems to confirm this. When you're at the office all day and decide to eat a pizza for lunch it seems very obvious that you're at least half way out of commission for the rest of the day. I had always assumed it was simply because one gets so stuffed from pizza, but apparently the high fat content played a big role too.

Needless to say, I'm sticking to my low-fat diet with even more fervor henceforth ... although an occasional blunder feels SO good! Not while working though, this study clearly showed that.

So, you either end up with people getting disillusioned with the promise of the game, or the concept of "fame" gets diluted so much as to be worthless.

But that's what makes the game realistic! If fame actually meant something that'd be boring, people actually _want_ fame to be meaningless while having a big face value upfront. It's why we've created the concept here at the biggest MMORPG everyone plays.

The cat starts on day one and never really stops. Most humans just fail to notice this subtle battle for superiority because cats are small and cuddly.

That's why my girlfriend's cat looks at you like you're an idiot when you ask it to get off the table, and when you ask mine (politely) she jumps off. Even just pointing to the floor gets her to jump off without complaints.

Haven't tried having a wolf for a pet yet, on the TODO list.

Ah yes, but the question "Does this make me look fat" is in a whole other ballpark than "What do you think of this outfit"

The point of the former is to corner you and force a compliment out of you because the lass is feeling a bit unsure of herself. Whereas the latter is an honest request for an opinion and honesty is expected.

I'm sure they don't tell you the sex sucked right after you're done ... just as you probably don't tell them it's the arse that makes them look fat not the jeans.

While I agree there can be a time and a place for the honesty. Nothing has improved my sex life with my wife more than being honest when it's boring, bad, or good. It's how you learn what the other person likes. If you're not honest when it's crap, you keep getting the same crap sex over and over. (At least until you get no sex)

I concur, but I sure don't like such a slap in the face as having an orgasm and then hearing "You know honey, that really sucked. I hope you do better next time"
