An anonymous reader writes: Two male researchers have attempted to answer the age-old question: why are men obsessed with women's breasts?
The authors say that one of the reasons why heterosexual men are so fascinated by women's breasts is because of a simple hormone released during breastfeeding that helps form the powerful bond between mother and baby. This hormone is also responsible for creating the evolutionary drive for strong nurturing bonds between lovers, according to the authors.
Dr. Young, who is one of the world's leading social neuroscientists, wrote that "biologically speaking" the human male's obsession with breasts is "pretty weird".

Tizen recently went to Alpha, opening up its code (https://source.tizen.org/release) for developers to look at. A quick look at its 3-tier architecture (https://source.tizen.org/documentation/architecture-overview) suggests its somewhat akin to Android's architecture and will also consist of a bunch of API's making the life of app developers easier. According to the article in ITWorld, the WiFi has recently passed a Samsung Device running Tizen which could mean that we can expect a smartphone running Tizen in the probable near future. Fingers crossed :)"

The United States government conducted a couple tests in the 1950s to find out—it exploded nuclear bombs with 'packaged commercial beverages' deposited at varying distances from the blast center to see if beer and soda would be safe to drink afterwards. Right now I am planning a 'round-the-world-trip,'' and my ship (an 18-meter Skerry Cruiser sailing yacht) is in its early construction phase, so I need to shop for some hi-tech gear and, basically, I got lost in all the possibilities. What kind of hardware would you recommend as necessary for a trip of this kind? What would you have installed in your ship in order to have a safe trip?"

So, because you would have to design new security tools and think a different way in order to make it sure, does that make it flawed? Does this mean we are no longer free to innovate unless it fits into some mold? That is just stupid. If someone comes up with a new way of doing things, put on your REAL security hat and come up with a way to secure it, don't just spread FUD about how it is BAD!!

Asmodae writes "Judge Alsup in the Oracle vs Google case has finally issued his ruling on the issue of whether or not APIs can be copyrighted. That ruling is resounding no. In some fairly clear language the judge says: 'So long as the specific code used to implement a method is different, anyone is free under the Copyright Act to write his or her own code to carry out exactly the same function or specification of any methods used in the Java API.'"

Oracle sues Google, Yahoo sues Facebook, they counter-sue. Others threaten, others buy more patents and the circle goes round and round. Don't be fooled by the lawsuits between these tech titans though. The real cost that the patent mafia extracts from the tech world is on the smaller companies who can't afford to battle the Apples and Microsofts of the world. Their choices are far simpler. They can abandon their innovations or they can choose to pay and allow the Mafiosos to wet their beaks. Also, don't be fooled about who the real losers are here. The the real losers are you and me. ... So what do do? Here is my opinion. I would make it just as expensive for the offensive patent prosecutors. Just as the government put in the RICO act to combat organized crime, I would put a similar law in place on patents. RICO calls for treble damages. I would have treble awards of costs and legal fees. If a patent holder sues another entity for patent violation and that suit fails, the plaintiff who brought the suit should pay treble damages to the defendant. Three times what the defendant paid to defend."
