Bats? We are talking solar are we not? Don't bats fly when the sun is down? There might be certain losses, but not catastrophic. If you balance it out I would guess bird loss from oil spills, all sorts of carbon, coal pollution, global warming have a much more severe effect. I'd choose solar any day, even a cloudy one.

I earned a 4 year BS degree in CS years ago. I took 2 terms of calculus, which maybe helped. I also took various discrete math, finite math courses as well as operating systems, assembly language (that i've never programmed in for financial gain) and more. While it may not have taught me how to walk into and office and just do Cloud Computing, what it did (clearly IMHO) give me a huge leg up an every and anyone that didn't have my background in the theoretical stuff. Thru the years it has been so much easier for me to understand computer concepts, e.g. the GUI, UI, much OS related stuff, IT stuff than people that had to learn how to do computer related stuff that didn't see all the thought underlying.

Regardless I still can't understand with the option to buy and iphone or android based phone why anyone would go with MS. At least with PCs (versus Apple computers) you can pay much less (and get much less along with crappy windows bloat) but why pay the same for a windows mobile phone when you can get a clearly superior android or iOS.

I'm on macs 98 percent of the time but periodically (2 percent that winds up being more do to all the wasted bloatware time) I have to show someone at work how to do something on a previously purchased pc and its infuriating all the crap that one has to put up with on a pc. Unfortunately I have a feeling most people have no idea and just assume this is the way it is.

IMHO this is a reason for government health care. The 4 year can't pay for the consequences. The 87 year old may not and the parents may not have insured their child for liability insurance. These are accidents society should help out with.

I always wondered about the intensity in which the toasters loved God so much, how that evolved. I though the Caprica series delived into that. I don't think a multi season episode list would have worked, but one season, wrapping up those loose ends would have satisfied me. It shows you what total BS that show is--always being able to crack encryptions in no time. Getting facts out of a prisoner in hours rather than months. I could be wrong, I've only seen a few episodes but that is what happened in the few I watched.
