Comment Re:WD Live (Score 1) 217

I'd like to second this recommendation. The main omission from this device is the lack of Amazon Prime streaming support. Also, there is a problem with switching audio in a mp4/m4v file sends video racing ahead, however, strangely enough, mkv's work fine. No sub-$250 device I'm aware of does it all perfectly, but overall, I recommend the WDTV Live it and would buy again.

Comment Re:Goodbye iPhone, Hello Nexus (Score 1) 396

I have "a few nits" with my Nexus S running ICS such as sending pix via MMS, sluggish Contacts app and inconsistent BlueTooth, but overall, I'm happy with it. I get the same battery life under ICS as I did with GB and I tracked it pretty religiously as I was testing the impact of Locale on my phone. I've had at least two random reboots which happened when I was not using the phone. At this rate, I'll never get the 136 days of uptime I got on GB 4.0.6, I imagine I could've gone longer but ICS was released for my phone.

Sidebar: The idea behind Locale is great and it is a well laid out program, but I never worked as promised on my stock Nexus S, particularly the Airplane-mode add-on. The latest release is awful, using more than twice the resident RAM and much more battery life. I caved and uninstalled it.

Google needs to hurry the hell up and come out with fix for the various reported issues; its been over two months now! They're already talking about Jellybean for Christ sakes. If they don't fix these issues soon, my next phone will be an iPhone 5 as much as the thought sickens me. I don't mine having a few issues as long as they are addressed in a timely fashion, it's not as if Apple doesn't have issues with some of their iOS releases too.
