Wow...
What a week just rolled by. Loreanne and Natalie came out to visit for 5 days. I tried to give them a taste of the things that I do, and well, i pretty much ran out of ideas for things to go out and do. It's alright though, we had an awesome time.
Some Highlights:
6-Flags
Well... While a good idea in theory, we probably should have gone earlier. We happened to choose the day that a bunch of nasty thunderstorms would rampage all across the metroplex. We were able, however, to take in the majority of the main attractions. The Giant, Titan, Mr. Freeze, Batman, etc etc. Just as we were about to get onto the shockwave, the weather decided not to cooperate any more, and ominous evil looking clouds rolled through. We figure we'll just kind of wait it out... but someone must have had other ideas. It started raining cats and dogs. Huge rain drops coming down with the quickness. So we decide to cut our losses and just head home.
Bowling
Probably the most expensive 2 games of bowling i've ever played, but damn was it fun! We went to main event and missed the 1/2 price night by one day. Oh well, The lanes were really nice, and My brother joined us on our adventure. It was kind of neat, the lanes have some kind of speed sensing equipment that will display how fast you can throw the bowling ball (right before it hits the pins i'm assuming). We all had a great time, David decided to locate a 6lb ball for some odd reason. That thing was quite funny to chuck down the lane. The finger holes were WAY too small for anyones fingers, but just kind of underhand throw it and maybe put some spin on it. I ended up getting a strike with that ball *w00*. Also while we were at Main Event David and I showed the ladies how to play DDR. We only played one game each (damn expensive arcade games) David is pretty good at the PSX version of the game, but really hadnt ever played the arcade version. I'm alright at the arcade... but not the best. It was pretty fun. I dunno if the girls liked it, but It's something that I do out here.
LaserTag
We went out to play lasertag on Friday night. I figured that's when the most people would be playing. We got into a game of 10 or so people (including us). It was fun, I'm not sure if Natalie liked the game or not... i kept bumping into her, and she was all by herself. Small story, At the beginning of the game, there was a set of members that I had never seen before. They were all talkin smack to each other about who was going to win and lose. They said amongst themselves someone was goign to get first. And to myself i was thinking "HAH... you're kidding right" but i let my skills do the talking. I ended up getting 1st with ~700 points. Loreanne got 7th, and i cant recall what natalie got.
Movies
Taking full advantage of David's position at the theater, we went and saw 2 movies. We watched 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Hollywood Homicide. I had seen 2fast before, but didnt mind seeing it again. It's an alright movie, and i totally dont complain if i'm seeing it for free. Hollywood Homicide was alright. As we were walking out someone said something about Lethal Weapon... It didnt really remind me of that movie, but i could see if any sequels come out, that it would probably steer towards that direction. Harrison Ford is an amazing actor. Diggin the free popcorn and drinks too.
Southwest
Natalie has been telling me for the longest time that she wants to be a flight attendant for an airline. My father being a pilot for southwest, he has certian connections in that field. So, one day, he set up a tour for us at the southwest headquarters. It was really cool, we walked through various halls looking at all the "Family" photos, and my dad took us to eat at the main cafeteria. After lunch, we drove over to the airport to take a look at where the in-flight operations training center is. This place trains the provisioners (people who stock the drinks), and the flight attendants. I really had no idea all the training that they must go through. It turned out that the person that gave us the tour was one of the highest ranking people for that area. It was really quite nice, She showed us around, and was very informative. Kind of silly i'm not sure how she got this idea, but she kept calling Natalie my dad's daughter. ;) Oh well. We didnt want to make her feel foolish.
We did a LOT of stuff, even more than what i've described above. It kind of seemed like i was trying to just fill up all avalible time with things that i tend to do. We went Geocaching, and took a stop by Dave and Busters while waiting for a movie. We hit the hot tub/pool a few times. It really seemed like the time flew by. I commented when i dropped the girls off at the airport about how it had seemed like i had just picked them up. A side note, I drove my Dad's car during this trip... and From when i picked them up, to when i dropped them off totaled 300+ miles. (wow!) We went out to eat at some of the local 'odd' resturants that they dont have in SanFrancisco. So much stuff, i'm sure i'm leaving like a day and a half out.
It really was an amazing time. We did so much. Y'all (we'all ;) need to come back out now... y'hear?
