Comment Do we need more speed? (Score 1) 168

I have charter at the 30/3 increment. it costs just under $50/month. If I wasn't bundled for another 14 months I think I could get by with a slower speed, as long as I can stream some Netflix, and play a bit of CoD, or Battlefield 3 I would be happy. 10MB would probably be enough for me.

Comment The classic Dart.... (Score 1) 183

The classic Dart has always my mainstay when making planes for my son and his friends.

I am also partial to the designs in this book : http://www.amazon.com/The-Ultimate-Paper-Airplane-Step/dp/0671555510

I have a variation of the general "Ultimate" designs, and the "Harrier" that resembles a Shuttle - These used to be mandatory for my then 3yro (now 6) when we watched shuttle liftoffs, and landings.

Comment More gym class, and recess for younger kids... (Score 1) 304

My 6yro is a wildman when it comes to most of the Wii "active games" he gets pretty excited and jogs in place and is constantly moving - he gets fairly sweaty doing it, tho he is probably an exception to the rule.

When I was in school we had a lot of phys ed - everyday in grade school, 3 days a week in middle school, and high school. Now I think my kid gets 2 days of gym a week. Sure there is recess, but its in 15 minute spurts, or a 30 minute lunch where half the time is spent eating his lunch.

I bought a 98 Isuzu Amigo new, and drove it to 200k in just over 10 years. I would have yet today but the head cracked, and the repair was more than we had available with a new baby on the way. I opted to buy a newer used car, a 2001 Monte which other routine maintenance has been fine for 140K and counting.

I do miss that Amigo tho - always started, and never got stuck in the Wisconsin winters.

And even if they do land these parts within say 50 feet of each other how are they going to move it all to put it together. Rather than that cute explorer vehicle - it will need a crane of some kind or the whole thing will need to be inflatable, and then have a catalyst that makes the walls solid.
