Comment Re:what is a 'Natick Couple'? (Score 2) 14

and why is 'Natick' important to this story? So many possibilities: Natick might be an exciting new form of sexual deviance or maybe a newly discovered tribe in the Amazon jungle or perhaps a persecuted religious group from the foothills in Tennessee. No don't tell me what it means; it's more fun to speculate.

The story is from the Boston Globe. Natick is a Boston suburb. Someone from Boston would understand the reference.

It would certainly be great if the power source is carbon-neutral. But suppose it isn't, and the carbon-capture plant emits 5 metric shit-tonnes of CO2 per year. But in doing so it captures 10 metric shit-tonnes per year. It's therefore producing a net negative 5 metric shit-tonnes. That's a win!

Can you convert that to imperial units for the Americans? We don't do that metric stuff here.

No, I don't. The history of /. lives on in the DB. Can you point to and link to a particular time period when it was like this?

A large part of the problem was gas hoarding. It was the whole toilet paper thing all over again. As soon as the news broke people were lining up at gas stations with their gas cans to stock up.

Now do the government. It's not fair to judge the morality of the corporations without judging the morality of the government that you claim they are morally obligated to give their money to.

And, already, I am expected, as a matter of course, to know what "WFH" stands for.

Now that you've come out from under the rock you've been hiding under for the last year, let me tell you about this browser feature that you've been missing out on. You can highlight a term you don't know, like WFH, right-click it, and select "Search Google for WFH" from the context menu.
