Look at Kiwi CatTools. Its a couple hundred bucks and supports the management of hundreds of devices via scripted CLI. I use it to manage all of my Cisco devices for config backups, etc. If your org can't spare a couple hundred for this management utility, then you have bigger problems than wifi. Kiwi also does a TON of other neat things, like configuration comparisons side by side.

First and foremost: I own a PS3, an Xbox 360, and a Wii. I love all of them.

My girlfriend loves my Xbox. She bought her own controller that she put stickers on. She's often the one bringing up the idea of playing video games or checking out 1 vs 100.
The draw? She LOVES her Xbox avatar. It seems like every time she comes over she's completely overhauling her outfit. She made an offhand comment about how dressing up her avatar replaces her need to go shopping. Me, on the other hand? I rarely change my avatar. I did give him a monocle a couple of weeks ago; its pretty awesome :- )

But yea, if this stuff doesn't apply to you, don't worry. It isn't meant to. It does, however, bring girlfriends closer to the gaming, which we can all agree is a good thing. Who knew we could learn so much from Nintendo?

Ridley Scott Directing Alien Prequel 336

brumgrunt writes "After three decades of speculation, original Alien director Ridley Scott has signed on to the new Fox sequel. 'Nothing is known about the set-up of the new movie, except that chronologically it precedes the plight of the Nostromo. Since it's obviously going to involve the human race [...] Writer Jon Spaihts successfully pitched to Fox and Scott Free Productions, and is working on the script.'"

Outbound SMS worked and appeared to come from my Google Voice number. My friend replied, and the SMS I recieved did not have his cell number as a sender. It did have my contact entry prefixing his message, though.

Example SMS Body: -John Smith: Hey, I got your text.

Outbound calls using the Blackberry app looked like they were trying to connect but never went through. Maybe the load from the app release is a bit more than they planned on.

Experimental Video Game Evolves Its Own Content 167

Ken Stanley writes "Just as interest in user-generated content in video games is heating up, a team of researchers at the University of Central Florida has released an experimental multiplayer game in which content items compete with each other in an evolutionary arms race to satisfy the players. As a result, particle system-based weapons, which are the evolving class of content, continually invent their own new behaviors based on what users liked in the past. Does the resulting experience in this game, called Galactic Arms Race, suggest that evolutionary algorithms may be the key to automated content generation in future multiplayer gaming and MMOs?"

With all due respect, what the hell are you talking about? My BES rollout was one of the most painless deployments I've ever had. It took me the lesser part of an afternoon to get setup, and was so reliable I ended up using my test box for production. It's been running for well over a year and has required essentially no attention. It simply works.

I'd kill for all of my projects to be so smooth.

I'm going to assume that your new PBX is a Cisco solution; I am absolutely DYING to know what kind of 1U PBX you were using that required a 6 server Unified Communication Manager farm to replace? Even with Unity (Voicemail) and IPCC (CallCenter) I seriously doubt your claims.

Something along the lines of Unified Communication Manager Express as a module for an integrated service router seems much more fitting for your needs. Who designed your current setup?
