True. In Canada, only one side needs to know about and authorize the taping of a conversation.
BUT a third-party taping is obviously a HUGE nono.
A few years ago a friend of mine went through a bitter divorce and recorded everything his (now ex) wife was saying on the phone since she kept changing her tune when in front of arbitrators.
When the tapes came out, she spouted up and down about how illegal it was and it would never be used in courts etc. After a 10 minute recess with her lawyers the contested issues were resolved in short order.
It's made me VERY careful about what I say to who on ANY phone.

I clearly have had the name since 1988, even have published short story about the character.
Funny how they never returned my emails....

Good hardware, crappy software.
Can't tell you how many times my blackberry went flying from the holder when I got out of the car, took off my coat etc. Still survived, never a crack.
Still, first chance I got to switch to Iphone I took it, Know why? 10 min to download/test a french translation program. Iphone? under a minute.
Since moving, I'm reminded of the functionality I had back when I had a Jornada. Now gimme a sylus iphone and I'll start drinking the MAC kool-aid.

Dunno, took them til Adobe X to fix the f*ckin TypeWriter tool!
Then they had the audacity to tell me I had to pay another 200 for the upgrade because "it works now".
If ever I wanted to sue a company......

Oh, IT told them how to securely store the data on the laptop. Him being at the executive level, promptly ignored IT directives because it was "too complicated".
I'm in a large organization, it's INCREDIBLE what hoops IT makes little ol me jump through to do things on my laptop but Executives routinely able to do and get the most insane stuff happening on their laptop. Autologin because they keep forgetting their passwords? No duh, changed every 20 days, must contain an non-alpha-numeric character, must contain upper and lowercase, not dictionary based, and not similar to the last 20 passwords.....you have ANY idea how fricken hard it is to keep track of not only the main login but all the subsystems we use?
Oh, what's that? the exec has autologin with roboform installed? And this is allowed HOW? Oh right, they're the execs.

Have the same thoughts as Zander.
Back in 1998 (I think) the company I work for was recommended/poised to buy this little company that was making 6 meg virtual environments called Vmware.
Coolest shit I had ever seen up to that point, blew away Qview. Had we bought it, I have no doubt we would have screwed it up and set the whole world back by 5 years.
Not to say anything negative about the company I work for, just that I doubt they would have had the dedicated vision and creativity to develop them into the company they are today.
I Chuckle every time I see how much my company now pays them.
Funny little world we live in.

You're free to use the PS3 anyway you want. All they've said is that they'll cut you off from their network, which, you know, they own, put money into, time, resources etc.
Hack away, just make sure it's offline.....how did Sony put it? Permanently.
I think this is pretty straight forward legal talk and is nothing different than what Xbox360 and Microsoft does.
There WILL be a fork and separate network setup so that you can join on someone elses resources, I'm sure of that.

I picked my cap. It was 200 gb.
I got a letter saying the CRTC would force the ISP's to downgrade my cap to 60gb or I can happily pay $100.00 more a month (50 for a higher plan, 50 for going over) to get back to my cap.
YOU are missing the point of why we're pissed off.
Switch providers? You're kidding right?
The CRTC just handed the only 3 companies with the infrastrure cart-blanche to strangle anyone, even if you're with a competitor who happens to be leasing their lines.
No my friend, we're foobared.
