I liked the salvage patch. I would build out a medium mech with 2 inferno launchers, a flamer, 2 or 3 medium pulse lasers and a small laser. Group fire on something and I could over heat any mech in the game, then come in close and fire the small laser directly into the cockpit to take out the mech with minimum damage as it was in shutdown.

Star Wars Fans Look For Love In Alderaan Places 88

Hugh Pickens writes "The Christian Science Monitor reports that devoted fans at the recent Star Wars Convention V, many dressed as Jedi knights, stormtroopers, or the indomitable Princess Leia, sat opposite one another for a series of 3-minute speed dates, in hopes of finding a connection with a fellow Star Wars enthusiast. 'Over the course of the three events, due to size and time, we turned away about 600 participants,' says Ryan Glitch. 'Yesterday, this room was packed. We had to keep shoveling people along.' Meanwhile in the main exhibition hall, a chapel was set up to allow fans to profess their love and devotion to each other in the form of commitment ceremonies. 'I've been told that we've had two commitment ceremonies from people that met at my event,' says Glitch adding that he saw eight additional couples at the convention made up of people who had attended his speed dating sessions."

Woman's Nude Pics End Up Online After Call To Tech Support 197

Tara Fitzgerald couldn't find the nude pictures she planned on sending to her boyfriend, but instead of just taking more, she decided to see if a Dell tech support call could fix her problem. Apparently the tech support guy found them. Unfortunately, he then put them up on a site called "bitchtara."

Apples and oranges on that one. Actually, for the most part the "Smoking is Bad" PSA's have said that Smoking increases the RISKS that you will die of cancer, which is quite different from the AGW announcements that AGW WILL destory our civilization/world/porn industry. I guess that the absolute certainty that some have on this issue is what gives me the heebee jeebees.

Actually, I would say skeptics of anthropomorphic global warming. There are nut jobs on both sides of the issue. However, as you describe it, I would be a "climate change denialist" who is an atheist, sees that science, and more importantly the scientific METHOD as mankind's only real hope for long term survival. I guess I do not fit the deluded masses of christian fundies. I take issue with the anthropomorphic global warming crowd for the following reasons.

Unwillingness to provide source data and methods used in their papers. (This is science, if you cannot replicate it, it never happened)
Continuing to both cite and regurgitate papers and findings that have been proven incorrect. (This is the Big Lie strategy, keep saying the lie often enough and loud enough, and everyone thinks it must be true)

and, IMO for the SCAREMONGERING that goes on in the press conferences. Its not part of their science, but at in my 30 years on this planet, I have been told that we are all gonna die real soon now many times, its getting to be as bad the fundies talking about the End Of The World.

0 A.D. Goes Open Source 88

DoubleRing writes "Wildfire Games has announced that it will be moving its previously closed development process for 0 A.D. to open source. All code will be released under the GPL and all art under CC-BY-SA. 0 A.D. is a historically-based RTS, and while it's not yet complete, this trailer is purportedly actual gameplay footage. With a codebase of over 150k lines of C++ code plus 25k lines in development tools, this is looking like a fairly promising entrant into the open source RTS field. The screenshots are definitely pretty, to say the least."
