You should really read before replying. He was pointing out that since atoms have thickness, 2D is technically impossible.

Okay, fuck the mod points, I'm sick of this shit. The evolutionary model is exactly as legit as the Creator model whether you like it or not. If you do not believe it, that's fine, but realize the we think you're just as stupid for not accepting it as you do for us accepting it.
Oh, and newsflash: Whatever anyone believes, physics still works. The universe doesn't give a flying fuck what anyone believes, it just is what it is. The only true test is if a theory is self-consistent. I believe in an infinite and loving God that wants to change my heart before He changes my shirt(quoting a song). I have been insanely lucky at odd times and just seem to muddle through when I choose to be humble and seek God's will. OTOH, when I used to think I was the shit, things went very badly and I felt like I didn't deserve it.
Christianity works, so suck on that.
Wants to know what Willis is talkin' bout?
I went to the end of rainbow and bitch-slapped a leprechaun until he handed over his pot of gold. Then I stabbed a unicorn in the flank and watched it bleed to death, cut off it's horn and made an awesome knife. Then I stepped through a StarGate portal and came back to reality, where stupid crap like this story happens.
The scientific method doesn't cover all science, just things like physics and chemistry. There's also things like detective work, which is more about predicting behavior based on past behavior.
Hardcoded speed limits are stupid, since conditions change constantly. The only way I can see speed limit signs making sense is if they're electronic and change with the road conditions. But even then, they'd either need to be changed manually or have some damn good AI running them.
Guess what? For those of you complaining about the summary, it's a direct quote from the first few lines of the story they're linking to. The anonymous poster is the person who wrote the article being quoted.
I don't totally block the ads, I block their ability to animate past the first frame unless I click on them. That way, they can still advertise, they just can't make it obnoxious.
Maybe the cosmonaut was supposed to be a troll within a troll, but it's supposed to be confidant.(sp?)
If we used batteries to store excess coal plant electricity, wouldn't that cut down on overall usage of coal?
I'm asking the forum, it's simply something I'm throwing out there.
Google the company uses a ton of electricity for it's servers, but they simply chose to put their biggest server farm near a dam in Dallas so that they could benefit from the renewable energy. Not every company will do that.
Plus, the government could simply offer exceptions to companies that don't have an available alternative.
The only reason China has the largest emissions is because they have a ton of people that want the benefits of this modern age. If you compare carbon emissions to population, I believe(not sure if it's still true) that we in the US are the worst CO2 emitters. Also, if I'm not mistaken, China has put a ton of money into alternative energy research.
So...Despite the fact that China's the leading emitter, they're also the #1 leader in trying to solve the problem.
Now the fanatics who yelped about embryonic stem cells have a hard time dropping they embryonic part, and are having a hard time dropping their political message, even though science stole their thunder and reason for protest.
You can't be serious. The protesters didn't want experiments done on fetuses, and the scientists stopped doing experiments of fetuses. No thunder was stolen, the protesters simply got what they wanted.
Some Kindles give Internet acess for free. The experience sounds ultra-shitty to me, but it is offered. And it's a cellular connection, so you could technically be homeless and use it, though recharging might be a problem.
I like online games where there's PvP and more than one character in your arsenal. It's even better when you have a username like Van der Waal, because then your forces are, logically, Van der Waal's forces.
Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all night, or until the drinks run out.
