What kind of utopia are you living in where seniors are using their debit cards? It feels like I'm always behind one of two groups: Either a senior with a check (who doesn't get any of this out until after the checkout is complete) or the welfare queen splitting payment between their food stamp card, cash and gift cards to cover their beer and cigarettes.
My biggest problem with self checkout is all of the Walmarts and Targets in my area that have almost eliminated all checkers in favor of self checkout. So now the problems like the above are just magnified as you now have one employee trying to wrangle 5 of those at a time.
I'm not on Meta's side here, but the news sites were getting free advertising and then asked to be *paid* to get that advertising. Can you imagine if a brand got *paid* to air a TV commercial rather than the other way around?
Meta said no and pulled all that free advertising. Now the news outlets are left going "wait, that's not how we meant for this to go..."
There is only one thing I want to see out of some sort of monopoly breakup against Amazon: I want prime for shipping and not waste money on prime video (or other 'benefits'). The shipping is why I went Prime ages ago, and it's all I give a shit about.
I guess I wasn't clear enough. There are mods doing a good public service, and for the most part those are the ones who also joined the protests.
Mods are needed for Reddit to function; they really shouldn't be working for free.
However, even if every good mod quit or was removed because they should be paid (or at least respected) it won't make anything better because there will always be someone willing to step in for the power.
All Reddit did was threaten to remove the mods of protesting subs to get them re-opened. Those who didn't comply were removed and scabs put in their place.
So long as power-hungry morons are willing to work for free as mods (which will always exist) a protest like this will never work.
Why the hell waste the development time and resources when they could just continue to use Youtube or other available platforms that would effectively be free to them? I'm all for more outreach and public information, but this makes absolutely zero sense.
It's not just the price (which is outrageous). It's not even Star Wars themed. It's Disney Star Wars themed. Nobody gives a shit about the Disney trilogy.
It's not even 24/7. The gullible whales who got suckered into this crap have a rigid schedule they have to follow for their 'events,' with access to virtually nothing outside of a bar or something outside of those events.
Look up SponsorBlock.
Best thing to happen for Youtube viewers since uBlock Origin.
I have a bigger issue with them saying gravity *alone* created light, but right before that they state that the extreme gravity waves *and* large electromagnetic field produced the light.
So how many decades is the FCC giving these telcos to actually obey this directive?
It's been down for so long I actually visited Fark.com for the first time in probably a couple years.
The entire world already solved this issue over the last three years. It's called "work from home."
The Disney board brought in Chapek to put out Iger's fires, but then refused to give him any water to do so.
There are two ways to write error-free programs; only the third one works.
