Thanks, Mom and Dad.
So my 3.12 CNE is no good any more? Dang!
I'm getting a kick out of this because I have use of only one eye.

Man. There English sucks.
The quality of the many recent graduates I interview from traditional colleges and universities is atrocious. They have no analytical skills what so ever and expect to come in making big bucks and leading projects. The ones that I did hire sit around all day worrying about how they could have used super duper new programming paradigm X and take forever to complete what should be simple development tasks. They shut down if a design spec given by a customer is not perfect rather than working with the customer to clarify or work through the issue.
Argh! You kids get off my lawn!
Subscribe to a checkout service similar to PayPal that could calculate the taxes and adds them as appropriate?
Hrm. I smell a business opportunity.
Ignore this reply, please.
Ever try to read an iPad in the sun? If they do this and go with anything other than an eReader we will all know it is a publicity stunt.
And what about when it snows or rains? Do they print out copies of the playbook just in case, or hand out ziplock bags?
I must comment on the synopsis of this story. y2k was basically a non-event because thousands of people like me worked our butts off for a couple of years to bring forward our legacy systems and come up with creative ways to do so.
It gets my goat every time I hear somebody who wasn't involved say such ridiculous things.
Now get off my lawn you darn kids!
So I can't use it as a DVR unless I am on Dish? It says it integrates with my existing cable box? What is it talking about there?
I think I'll stick to my TiVo if this is the case. TiVo paired up with pyTivo gives me everything I need and has for years.
Hmmm... It seems like the author of TFA would have known this. Thanks for the clarification.
Unless I'm missing something, this seems like a really stupid mistake that would be a deal breaker for any use in the living room.
"and if you have a separate sound system, you can use the audio out 3.5mm jack (no real surround sound here, unfortunately) for your home cinema."
I don't like people assuming that since my group is part of IS that we are "just" technology people. Yeah, we are programmers, but we are far more than that. We have to truly understand the business needs of our organization, and we do. We are partners with the business units, not just a bunch of geeks turning out code that we hope does what is needed, or coding to specs that may or may not be the best solution that some accountant thought up.
