Comment NO. (Score 1) 712

No, and that's my final answer. What a horrible idea. Why doesn't Microsoft stick with one and make it rock solid? Like they did with XP. Doing this will make developers go nuts because they will have to build a new version every time a new version of windows come out. They are just trying to copy Apple's business model and they are doing it WRONG.

Comment Depends... (Score 1) 479

In my opinion, it depends. For a single person coding and making some program (doesn't even have to be in a company) and not planning on putting on sourceforge or something, it probably doesn't matter. In a company where code is shared and debugged between lots of people, yes it does. So all in all, formatting probably does matter in the long run.

Comment What Microsoft Needs To Do (Score 1) 441

Microsoft needs to expand and FIX (tons of bugs on my Win 7 machine) Windows 7 instead of pushing out Windows 8. For one thing, it looks to me like Windows 7 is much more favorable than 8 among the general public. Microsoft could probably pick up more revenue from 7 because it IS favorable to 8. I have also heard it is not as intuitive as 7, probably because 8 is designed mainly for tablets (c'mon MS, the majority of computers out there will be laptops/desktops, not tablets). Though I don't know if this is completely true. RIP start menu.

Comment Re: $2.5 billion a pittance to use rectangle (Score 0) 377

Well then Apple should have used a circle or pentagram, because Microsoft actually came out with the first tablet, the Tablet PC. Just nobody paid any attention to it. So Apple copied Microsoft. And using a specific shape for a device is not "copying" the design. Using the specific dimensions, etc. is copying, but that is not what Samsung has done.
