Exactly!
I'm currently in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic. Most of the computers I deal with here are 6 to 10 years old. And what makes it worse, most of them are Celerons.
So upgrading the OS is not an option. The computers simply don't have the power to run a better OS (and no one here but me knows for the first thing about Linux). Hell, just installing an anti-virus is problematic because the computers already run so slow.
And I don't even want to mention how much of the software here is pirated (i.e. all of it). I'm not afraid of saying that because I dare Microsoft to come out here and do something about it. No one here has more than a couple dollars to their names. If they did come out then I wouldn't be the only person out here who speaks English.
