A comparison of some ad background colors:

  • Google: #fff7ec
  • Bing: #f9fcf7
  • Yahoo: #fafaff
  • DuckDuckGo: (255,212,0,0.18)

DuckDuckGo uses rgba, so it's a real color unlike the near-white the others use, but 18% opaqueness (82% transparent).

For the first three (at least on my LCD monitor) if you view it straight on, the colors almost disappear. If you view the monitor from an angle, say 45+ degrees to the side, then the colors become much more pronounced.

I'm on T-mobile and was looking this up for my fiancé who is on AT&T.

1) The iPhone will work on T-Mobile once it has been unlocked. You have to contact AT&T to unlock the phone, but it seems like it will be pretty simple, as long as "all contractual obligations ... have been fully satisfied." See here.

2) Coverage in Orlando was fine for me. I didn't run any speed tests there, but I live in Gainesville, FL and have seen up to 19 Mbps download. It averages around 12 Mbps down, and 1.5 Mbps for upload. I'm not sure about the SF Bay area.

One thing I want to know is how easy it would be to end the contract early, and pay the early termination fee (it shouldn't be much, as her contract ends this summer). Would they unlock the phone after that without any hassle?

If you don't want it in a new tab, you can instead press CTRL+L which moves the focus to the address bar and selects it all.

Me though, I like opening a new tab but do it with the mouse instead. My bookmark bar has several folders and several icons only (In Chrome - create the bookmark, right click, Edit..., delete everything from "Name:"). My most commonly used bookmarks aren't in folders, so I just middle mouse click on the icon to open a new tab for that webpage. One single click to open a page in a new tab. This of course only works well for websites that have an easily recognizable favicon. If I want something in a folder, it's a left click on the folder and then middle click on the bookmark. Many of the folders, I'd rather open all of the bookmarks, so then it's a right click on the folder and left click on "Open all bookmarks" or "Open all bookmarks in new window".

My mom let me have a sip of coffee when I was about 5. Every now and then, I have a sip of someone's and think "Yep, this is still disgusting." With sufficient cream or caramel flavoring, it becomes tolerable. I do drink Coke, but have been meaning to cut back. (Right now it's usually one 12oz. per workday.)

So after the latest Dice ad, I finally created an account on Reddit, and already read about this story there. Now I understand all the posts about Slashdot always being the last to the party. Can anyone recommend the best subreddits to subscribe to when trying to replace Slashdot news?
