Microsoft Vista Info Leaked 476

slashnutt writes to tell us Yahoo News is reporting that Microsoft accidentally released information about Windows Vista earlier than originally planned. From the article: "Microsoft disclosed information about a plan to release eight different editions of the new operating system on a company help page that was under development. The company has not made any official statements about the different versions of Windows Vista it plans to offer. The company has since taken down the Web site and declined to confirm the information and said it will offer more details about the Vista launch, targeted for the second half of 2006, in the coming weeks. Microsoft spokesman said in a statement 'This page has since been removed as it was posted prematurely and was for testing purposes only.'"

Zoner12 writes "CNet is reporting that Abe Usher has created an application that allows an iPod to scan corporate networks for files likely to contain sensitive business data and download them, potentially stealing 100 megabytes in a few minutes. An insider threat would only need to plug the iPod into a computer's USB port."

An anonymous reader writes "According to Physorg eavesdropping on a quantum encrypted link can now be done without detection. From the article: 'The scientists have succeeded in making the first remote copies of beams of laser light, by combining quantum cloning with quantum teleportation into a single experimental step. Telecloning is more efficient than any combination of teleportation and local cloning because it relies on a new form of quantum entanglement - multipartite entanglement.' ZD-Net News is reporting that Micrsoft is about to announce a $1 Billion investment in Tele-Communications Inc. Looks like they might have control over the whole set-top box industry after all.. What do you think?
