Comment Re:Real miniature bricks/mortar (Score 1) 785

We had something real close to that here in the States when I was a kid -- they were called Great American Bricks IIRC. They were red (and green later on) bricks with white foundation "bricks", doors, windows, roof angle pieces,a cardboard roof, and a few other pieces that I don't quite remember what they were. I played many an hour with them, and built many a house and other things. These were around in the '60s and disappeared by early '70s or so.

Another favorite building toy was Tog'ls. They were little cubes with connectors, some which opened. There were other pieces that went along with that, such as a large rectangular base and plastic windows. I also had Lego. All were well used to the point of not sticking together any more.

You forgot Palin. I knew McCain had lost it when he nominated Sarah Palin to be his running mate. If McCain were to have a stroke or worse and no longer able to be President, we would be stuck with HER as President. I'll never understand why McCain picked Palin -- if he wanted a Woman running mate, there are many other better qualified Women in the Republican Party. If he needed the support of the 700 Club Right, there are "better" choices.

Oh well, I lost faith in the Republican Party when Pat Robertson ran in the Primaries back in the '80s. The Republicans were supposed to be the party of business, not the political arm of the 700 Club.
