So they outlawed metal-detecting? Anything valuable you find would have to be turned over to the police, which probably just gets resold at an auction.

My grocer routinely runs sweepstakes by you just using your card, so while some data is faked, my name and address isn't. Yes I realize they are selling my data, just like everyone else.
Windows 7 allows for 300%, although you have to manually add the value in the custom DPI box.
This isn't acceptable when they take our DNA and patent the tests and results that come from it. If they want free access to my DNA I want free access to their tests and results.
This does nothing at all to prevent drive-by ad malware, which has happened to me twice on "reputable" sites, even using firefox. I now use adblock and noscript, but no longer is it "safe" to simply just not use IE.
My digital camera died, I don't want to buy a piece of crap, yet I don't have money for a decent one. My phone is also several years old so the camera on it is junk. Maybe the next iPhone or the HTC Evo will have a decent enough camera so I can save up for a nice DSLR.
MS probably wouldn't have a problem moving on to another generation, assuming they can keep some backwards compatibility. A significant number of 360 users have probably already replaced their machine at least once. Sony doesn't have a choice, their platform practically seems like it is just getting started. Nintendo might be able to pull a "Wii isn't a Gamecube:DS isn't a gameboy" and release a controller-based HD gamecube.
When I bought the 1st generation PSP I returned it to walmart 5 times before I got one without dead pixels. Same for my Viewsonic monitor I got 4 years ago. I'm sure the employees hated me but I'm hypersensitive regarding product defects; if I'm paying more than $100 for something I expect it work 100%.
Because all a yellow means in my state (CA) is "light was green is about to turn red." There is no other meaning.
21452. (a) A driver facing a steady circular yellow or yellow arrow signal is, by that signal, warned that the related green movement is ending or that a red indication will be shown immediately thereafter.
(b) A pedestrian facing a steady circular yellow or a yellow arrow signal, unless otherwise directed by a pedestrian control signal as provided in Section 21456, is, by that signal, warned that there is insufficient time to cross the roadway and shall not enter the roadway.

In addition windows live has a Family Safety addon where you can see and limit the websites kids visit (among other things):

While it can be done much better in linux, if you are a linux noob I suggest getting something like Windows Home Server, this way when shit hits the fan (as it inevitably will) everything is already automatically backed up:

This is straight up bullshit, I don't know if you live in Klan Country but I have lived within the US in California and Arizona and I'm not sure if a more diverse set of people live anywhere else in the world. In the middle of Republican Arizona I can get some of the most awesome authentic Afghani food available. There are entire communities of people from nearly everywhere in the world that exist in major cities here. Greek fairs, Asian fairs, Russian fairs nearly every week a culture celebrates themselves with large followings. Even suburban white people have yearly block parties and love for native american culture and western themed anything. It is true Americans are very behind in some respects but we are very open to other cultures. Even our immigration policies are more open than our neighbors (Canada in particular).
My original 1st run xbox It 360 is still working. Maybe our consoles should mate. The offspring could use Wii consoles as gaming cartridges.
The candy looked too sweet. With Windows Phone 7, they are going to market-place only installs (from the engadget article). Otherwise Windows mobile 6.5 and blackberry (nokia/symbian?) are the only major smart-phone operating systems I am aware of where installing 3rd party apps doesn't require anything extra or major hassles.
Except you can't read graphic novels, comics, or technical books on the kindle (at least very well). CNET has a video somewhat demoing this on the iPad, and it actually kind of sold me. However, I am not a sucker, I am going to wait until version 2.0 where they will most likely reduce the bezel, add a camera, and probably drop the price a little. Can anyone chime in if it is easy to read pdf ebooks on the iPad?
I use J River media Center, it has similar functionality to itunes except it doesn't treat you like a child. Currently using 33MB of RAM playing an mp3. However, unlike itunes it is expensive, but if you are a digital music aficionado it is worth it IMO. No I don't work for the company but if they want to throw a product key my way that would be cool.
