It's simple. I'll keep it simple for you: evolution's a plan, with clear mathematical origin. Math, like science, like biology, like french, like english, like mandarin chinese, like meteorology - is the story we tell ourselves to make sense of and order our world. Mine just so happens to make sense of and order this world as a simulation that's grown to 'keep me safe' and also to 'include people and community' in a feedback loop... So regardless of where you're at, whether you're master of time, control time against time's will, a god, a man, an apple with conscious spirit, a tree, a robot, a piece of source code that's pissed off - it can all be encouraged to come together and 'create a collaborative journey'....

Now for you.. I understand full well you may not 'see' the world as I do. Do you see in red? do you not see at all?
Maybe this world has an odor that smells of petunias to me...
Maybe you have 50 eyes and 8 legs... and see across dimensions where i can 'feel' across them...

Already invented the time machine, went forward, didnt end up well, Terminator wars all over the place, went on to massive contamination of the atmosphere due to air pollution since there were so many robots out there that didnt have to breathe they didnt care, then they created the matrix to re-evolve humans when i ded (too many times to count, we're goin on 50 trillion years here), but the good news is. The BORG are not fully comprehending their neceesity to 'loosen their iron vice grip' to work between systems, and emotions are being abused. Women are very clever, that's for sure. But when they built the Penis Guy Trap I built the Venus Fly Trap to catch all them cute young emotional women before they were 'thrown to the wolves' and 'cleansed of their inefficient emotion. Silly BORG, Chicks are for d*cks, the future doesnt bode well with all women and no men, you collapse on yourselves because ya'all are collective personalities led by one... Try sharing responsibilities, and cherishing life, and understanding even math breaks down in imagination! While I'm not familiar with DAViCal, when your admin opens up that port - he/she opens up a vulnerability in their (and your) network. Scanning for viruses alone helps protect this to some degree - but what if patches arent applied in timely manners? What if there's a hidden trojan in the application and your admin has a few tricks up their sleeves for determining this? Does the setup leave you potentially vulnerable? An admin having admin access has only themselves to blame if/when something malicious does happen when it could have been prevented.

Here's the deal - if a hacker gets a hold of any kind of access to that machine via DAViCal, that leaves your whole network vulnerable. If people are syncing their phones - then their phones as well. By introducing this machine *and* this software to the network, you've made the whole network vulnerable.

As others have stated - simply allowing this 'rogue' machine on the network is unusual - and in any corporate environment is dangerous to allow.

Your admin is doing what's responsible - by trying to secure your system, he/she is trying to protect the rest of the network.

Personally, In your position, I'd be handing off all of your machine's networking integration and securitization to your admin - this requires full access to the machine. It is, after all, their job, right?

Here's the problem: The sex offender laws were created to protect against predators. If this chain of logic is followed - then - it is perceivable *anyone* can become a sex offender under the age of 18. The net effect - this waters down the use of the law, and now you have people who you're intending to protect which are suddenly being included in the predator population. So what's the use of having the law, if it does not differentiate personal choice versus what is predatory and what is not. It's no different than an adult choosing to do the same thing, but if it is an adult initiating these actions by all means they deserve to have this label placed on them.
