I have heard of research that claims the only the first 50ppm of CO2 has any effect on temperature. If CO2 is such a GW culprit, the quantity of CO2 has increased over the last 10 years, HOWEVER, the average temperature of the earth has FALLEN by 0.75 degrees Fahrenheit. More CO2, cooler temperature? For information re climate and its constant changes, look into sunspot activity, cosmic rays, the tilt of the earths axis, the gravitational effects of other planets such as Jupiter and the changes in the earths orbit. THe earth was warmer during the medieval warming and it was cooler during the mini ice age. These and other climate patterns correspond with the sun's activity. G'day, According to the Queensland 2003 Transport data which is the only data published, less than 4% of crashes involving a fatality or serious injury are CAUSED by exceeding the posted speed limit. This fact is supported by international research. The Queensland government, and all Australian state governments use the line that "in 20,27,25,22,16 percent (insert appropriate percentage) of serious crashes, at least one vehicle was speeding. Speeding is defined as exceeding the posted speed limit or exceed the speed appropriate for the conditions. However, even the police forensic crash investigators only claim their estimate of the pre crash envelope speed is accurate to 10% to 15%. No government will (or can) tell you how much speed contributed to the crash or even how it contributed. Write to your transport department or your transport minister with these questions and they conveniently ignore the question and any data presented. They reply with the standard bunch of lies. Surprise, the government tells lies. Of course the speed excuse is most palatable to the masses who don't know how to drive and don't want to. It is a cheap and easy option. Strange how the Antarctic ice is thickening. Even stranger that increases in CO2 levels FOLLOW a warming event by 600 to 10 years rather than cause it. Strange that the Earth's mean temperature has been level or cooling since 1998. Even stranger that Mars has experienced warming similar to Earth, and mankind hasn't stuffed that planet .. yet. The sea levels are NOT rising outside of historically defined parameters. The ice cap is thickening. The Earth is and has been cooling since 1998. The warming/cooling process is NOT caused by C02 levels but sun spot activity or lack thereof, the planetary alignments and the Earth's natural cycles. Look forward to a mini ice age starting in 30 to 60 years time. Remember, mankind has not had the wherewithal to accurately measure global temperatures prior to about 1972. Mankind is so bloody arrogant that anything out side of its history DID NOT HAPPEN. Mankind's arrogance and conceit knows no boundaries. To believe that we, who have been on Earth for an insignificant period, can change the outcome of natural and cosmic forces that affect this planet is the epitome of boof headedness. If climate change, nee global warming, has caused the extreme temperatures experience in Victoria, please explain why, on February 6, 1851, temperatures reached 117 deg Fahrenheit at noon. You can bet it reached 120F by 2:00pm. The whole state appeared to be burning. In fact, people in Tasmania could see the great pall of smoke and some thought the end of the world had come. It has also been suggested that the years of drought are NOT caused by the Southern Oscillation Index but the Indian Ocean Dipole, which has not been associated with global warming. The DSE and the councils in Victoria have been infiltrated by greenies and any suggestion that controlled burns have been common place are crap. One man cleared around his house to 100metres. The council only allows 20m. That man was fined $30,000 plus $20,00 costs. His was the only house in his area to survive. Don't try to link this with climate change, it just shows your desperation to make climate chane appear real. If there is to be any climate change, it will be another mini ice-age like the last lime that CO2 reached 400ppm.
