Section IV, Paragraph 2 of the Apple End User License Agreement clearly states that Apple will "...maintain full or partial control (at its sole discretion) of any country, state, or municipality using Apple software, or any software acquired through the App Store (tm) to draft any founding documents, constitution, collective bargaining proposal, or policy on bottled water usage."

Comment Pilots don't say Over (Score 1) 244

As a pilot I can tell you that I hear "over" only about once a year, and only when someone is repeating themselves trying to see if the other party can hear them. Also this technology would take literally decades to work into all aircraft. Aircraft last for decades themselves, and people are not that fast to upgrade.Aviation is about what is proven to work, not the latest and great bleeding edge technology.

Comment Bad for Aircraft (Score 1) 118

As a pilot I would be concerned about GPS degradation (we get reports of it). This could lead to a number of issues with aircraft navigation, especially for pilots flying VFR with handheld units that do not have RAIM. (The FAA says those are for situational awareness only, but that is frequently abused.)

Rotten Office Fridge Cleanup Sends 7 To Hospital 410

bokske writes "An office worker cleaning a fridge full of rotten food created a smell so noxious that it sent seven co-workers to the hospital and made many others ill. Firefighters had to evacuate the AT&T building in downtown San Jose on Tuesday, after the flagrant fumes prompted someone to call 911. A hazmat team was called in. Just another day at the office."

I did not get any type of joke. Seemed like a legitimate post to assert that someone would want to steal copper wiring, as this happens all the time given the recent price of copper (especially last year). Perhaps you are implying that the original poster knew that the fiber was made of glass when he/she suggested the theft of copper? If so I did not see any way to tell this. Please explain the joke as you see it. I tend to get most jokes, and didn't find much humorous is the original post.

No More D&D PDFs, Wizards of the Coast Sues 8 File Sharers 501

An anonymous reader writes "On April 6th, Wizards of the Coast took all of their PDF products offline, including those sold at third-party websites like RPGNow.com. From the RPGNow front page: 'Wizards of the Coast has instructed us to suspend all sales and downloads of Wizards of the Coast titles. Unfortunately, this includes offering download access to previously purchased Wizards of the Coast titles.' Wizards of the Coast also posted a press release to their website that states they are suing eight file sharers for 'copyright infringement,' and WotC_Trevor posted a short explanation about the cessation of PDF sales to the EN World Forums."

Interesting timing for this report to come out right as Obama is asking for draconian emergency powers to be able to shut off the internet and other private networks at will without regard for any law. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/obama-shut-down-internet-legislation,7478.html
