Don't give up, learn to express yourself better and find a group that suits you, I too gave up for quite a few years and have only recently re-found the fun of d&d with the right group!

why not sow a pocket into your pillow, then someone can't nick it while you are sleeping!! now all you need is a water proof bag... now its with you at all times!

Actually I'm from Australia and I guess Australia is in the Euro, Asian and African market as well.....wait isn't that the REST of the WORLD!! Anyway I was waiting for my friend to pick me up in his tiny car(which he bought after he traded in his fuel guzzler(v6 commodore Aussies out there)), and nearly every car that went past was small, there were only a couple of SUVs(like 1 in 10 or so). It was weird, i mentioned it to my friend when he picked me up and hes said everyone's buying small cars these days(I guess someone forgot to send the memo to me). I wonder if there are any stats about this?

but iTunes sucks.... there's heaps of album sorting and organising programs out there that don't put all your songs and things in weird places(note that might have changed, i haven't used it in years)

I'm pretty sure you can, cause I had a similar thing with sound... right click on the volume control and select preferences... then select the device.

I've had lots of laptops over the years, IBM, DELL, HP and hibernation worked on none of them.... Windows XP, 2000 and 98.... so I don't know what versions you had... I switched to Linux because I bought Windows XP 64-bit and it was totally useless... nothing worked. I've never had any driver issues at all since the move, played lots of games(UT, quake's, Enemy Territory to name a few). Sure i've had to fix some things but nowhere near as much as window... regedit anyone, updating anti-virus... spam... As to nothing to replace 3d studio ...errr blender... there are heaps of other ones.... My wife even uses it on her, for messaging, web browsing and skype(which she installed and setup when i wasn't there).

What.....Capitalism as a concept maybe but in practice its been around a long long time

daoc was(is?) the best all others were boring for me.... never lasted more than a few weeks with others, stayed playing for a few years with daoc! :D

Its a problem only if you want to play the newest games... most of my friends have wii's, ps2's or ps3's for games. I have a ps2, and sometimes play nexuiz, freeciv or freecol. I haven't run windows at all for a quite a few years now, and I have 4 computers(laptop, desktop, media pc, file server).

We do the same in outback Australia, it costs about $500AUD(about $350USD I think) its a fanless embedded pc with 500mhz processor and 256 mb ram, 2g cf flash card and runs like a dream! :D that's not including UPS though, but it uses about 3 to 5W at 12V DC so there would be a few options. But that said there are a lot of companies doing similar things that cost a fortune!
