Retina displays did not exist in phones before the iPhone 4

Your earlier quote of "I'm not just talking minor megapixel or processor upgrades, but something game changing" seems churlish, given you are now talking about minor display density increases.

Frankly, the increased screen size of the androids with a corresponding *reduction* in dpi was a bigger innovation than the high-density display of the iPhone 4. Unseated the iPhone from #1 . Game-changing, no?

Hehe... You do realise that you put the "You've got to throw away the stupid cliches" right after the "You've got to fix the system" line, right?

But I wish you luck on your revolutionary quest to "educate" of 50% or more of your countrymen and women to vote the way you think they should. I'm sure that Kucinich, Paul, Nader, and Perot never thought of trying to do *that*.

So your contention is that the majority are loud-mouth blow-hards and the majority should, therefore, shut up, think and vote? I hope you aren't waiting to for that to happen. You'd be better waste your time sitting on the street eating donated pizza and babbling - at least you get a free pizza. If I wanted political change, I'd go with bloody revolution. It, at least, has a reasonable track record of success

Estimated Transfer Time Is No More In Windows 8 456

MrSeb writes "Ahh, the Windows Explorer progress dialog. For years it has been struggling to figure out how to calculate how long our copy and delete operations would take, sliding the progress bar back and forth in a seemingly random, haphazard way, the laws of time all but ceasing to exist — five seconds remaining one moment and 13 minutes the next. That's (almost) all going to change, with the arrival of a greatly improved file management experience in Windows 8. Copy, move, delete, rename, and conflict resolution are all being overhauled and it's about time!"

If you understood the phenomenon that is Apple right now, you'd think twice before picking a fight.

Apple can be beaten (phones), sometimes even comprehensively (desktop operating systems).

The problem is, HP is a particularly stodgy company, and the contrast between the two companies is striking in this case.

Also, HP's reputation is pig-shit when it comes to support, but that's another story entirely...
