Yes, but only with computers can you get away with your ignorance

If your car has the "break" light flashing in the dashboard for 2 years, and you don't get your car checked, and one day you're totally out of break fluid and you run over a pregnant mother, you will be held responsible and you won't be able to claim it's not your fault because you don't know anything about cars.(P.S.: I don't know anything about cars, but I know I'd be responsible )

If you steal a 52inch plasma T.V. from a home in broad daylight and you get arrested by the cops, ... the defense : "I did not know it was a crime to steal stuff before 9:00 P.M." will not work, because none should ignore the law.

If I get stomach pain, I get a doctor to look at me, because if I ignore the issue, I won't be able to complain to GOD that I am dead because I wasn't a Doctor posting stuff on doctor's forums and that it isn't fair, nor that it is not my fault cuz I didn't know and that he should give me my life back.

So...... When I don't know how to fix my car, I don't ignore the problem, hope for the best, knowing I can claim ignorance and ignore the safety threat that I am to other people out there, I get a mechanic to fix it

Why not the same for people using computers, don't know anything about them, call a tech. By making them accountable for their own ignorance it would solve a large part of the problem. Example : I bet there wouldn't be anymore SPAMS or almost none because people would no longer be part of large botnets if they we're prosecuted for sending the spams.

You can't judge one person by the people he hangs out with, look at Judas, he had friends that we're irreproachable.

Everyone knows this, so does your next employer, and if he doesn't, then trust me, he is not open minded enough for you to work for him. Also, judging some1 by the actions of some1 else makes no sense at all, so have no worries, society will get younger and catch up.

From the article : The attack works best on a Linux system with an Intel DQ35 motherboard with 2GB of memory. It turns out that Linux allows the root user to access MTR registers incredibly easily.

If some1 is able to run code on your machine as root, then you have a lot of other and more pressing issues to fix!

And ffs, don't use your own internet connection.

I would suggest war driving around for a non-secure wireless access point, never use the same one twice.

And when you do it, boot from knoppix live CD or any other downloaded from the web CD/DVD boot OS.

Also, if possible, change your MAC adress by any means necessary.

For bonus points : Do use a web proxy service located in russia or something

Bonus Bonus FBI in WTF land points : Use SkyOS. :)

Ok, so this is true,

It was for one my internship in 2001, we had to go to companies and offer our expertise in computer consulting for free then find one that needed their business methods improved by software, and then make(code) the software for them. Turns out this helps a lot to jump start in the business world and it looks good on your resume.

So keep in my mind i was working for FREE.(cheap internship rules in canada)

So I found this local computer store that had no point of sales software and was using Excel for database and point of sales.

Perfect, I told them I could improved their business methods by making them their own in house Point of sales .... The boss told me it would be great but he also needed a comp salesman in their outpost in the local flee market. I would be coding the software while selling computer and computer parts, in the f_ing flee market. I agreed to it since I had a lot of trouble finding the internship.

I had to code while being constantly interrupted by the most computer illiterate of people asking questions about computer memory and or other components.

We should advance the time by 30 minutes once and NEVER talk about it EVER again!
OR .... we could re-do the entire calendar and time system for a more precise one, like one without leap years and stuff.
OR .... become care free of what time it is, and let go of the notion of time. Just live your life right now !! We are slave of the alarm clock and it is not even human and it is sad. Time is for robots and computers, let them schedule stuff for themselves and do all of our work. It is time we break from this slavery and : eat, sleep, drink, work, ...etc when and if we want to, not when the alarm clock says it's time to. And I think this could be attainable if we build robots like in this Will Smith movie, I robot, I hope I get to see this in my lifetime(Time free world).
