Comment How could you tell someoneâ(TM)s age online? (Score 1) 80

How old am I? How would you know? How could you know? I could be 17, or 71. Iâ(TM)m neither of those but thereâ(TM)s no way to tell from what I type here⦠The only way would be to require ID. And how does that work online, when you could either use someone elseâ(TM)s ID, or a fake one. I can understand why some people would like this, to protect their children from things theyâ(TM)d rather their children not seeâ¦but this ainâ(TM)t gonna work.

Submission + - Verizon "getting out of the email business" (verizon.com) 1

tomservo84 writes: If you have a Verizon.net email address, you will be saying goodbye to it within the next few weeks, according to this article.

Strangely enough, I didn't find out about this from Verizon, itself, but SiriusXM, who sent me an email saying that since I have a Verizon.net email address on file, I'd have to update it because they were getting rid of their email service. I thought it was a bad phishing attempt at first until I saw the link and read it. Guess it's time to move my email over to gmail. Hopefully Google won't decide to orphan THAT any time soon.
