The domestic airlines all permit strollers on board. Some of the airlines require you to check “large” strollers – make sure you check your airline for the specific details. Each airline has a different definition of “large.”

If you have an FAA approved car seat it can be used on the plane. You may have to purchase a seat if you want a guaranteed seat for the child, Lap fares don't include a seat for the child.

Airlines also check strollers and car seats for free, they can be checked with luggage or at the gate. I am not sure why some calculate the number of free items per adult ticket instead per child ticket.

Someone please explain to me why parents are letting these kids go to school with phones in middle school and such.

I can see it being more important once kids start driving themselves but there is no reason for a kid to have a phone at school.

There is no reason a kid should bring a phone to school before driving. Period.

They don't need a phone. They want a phone and have shitty parents. Thats different than need.

Do kids not participate in after school activities before driving age? In my experience, once practice is over the school does not provide transportation. Away games have transportation from school to school, but not home. Boy scouts, Girl scouts, and church youth groups are other activities where you may need to drop off or retrieve your child.

As children get older, the parents need to do less and less as the child does more and more on their own. I am not sure there is a magic age where children need a phone, or don't. If the school decides that phones are not needed in class, I would agree and support that decision.

The patent database search process is getting a lot easier with the availability of offline tools, making specific training datasets for use with ML techniques the big win for budding inventors. At 90.8GB, its a good start for rolling your own pattern matching system using the USPTO data.

ML has been popular for decades and is nothing new (pattern matching data is as old as technology itself). Using the term ML in context is the realm of the intelligent. Using the term AI makes someone look like a shyster (also mentioned regarding this particular patent application by other commenters). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wik...

If machine learning is just pattern matching could we conclude the output of AI proves obviousness?

Weather is Colder Than Normal When the weather during the winter months is colder than normal, the natural effect is an increase in customers' gas usage and higher customer bills. Because of the WNA, Washington Gas is able to distribute to its customers any excess revenue brought in by the unusually cold weather. Customers benefit from this by receiving WNA credits from the company. Weather is Warmer Than Normal When the weather during the winter months is warmer than normal, customers' gas usage and bills tend to be lower - this means a shortfall in the company's revenue. With WNA, Washington Gas is allowed to recover the revenue loss by placing a surcharge on the customer's bill in a form of a WNA charge. When the weather during the winter season is normal, the WNA will not be applied.

If the weather you get is sufficiently cold a credit will be issued in August instead.

In Ohio the Natural Gas and Electric suppliers can be different from the companies that maintain the delivery infrastructure. There is a line item on the bill for consumption * price per unit paid to the chosen supplier and is collected by the company maintaining the infrastructure and another line item for the infrastructure costs. A budget plan is available which divides your average annual usage by 12 and charges that instead of charging based solely on consumption. March and August are balance review months, where they can bump payments up or down to try and keep the monthly payments from changing too much and ensure that neither side owes the other too much at the end of the 12 month period.

I have owned cars with speed gauges showing two concentric graduated arcs. If I remember correctly the outer arc was MPH and the inner arc was kp/h. My current car has an analog speedometer and a digital screen in the instrument cluster, if you go into the settings menu the units can be selected. Since the computer controls the gauges and not a spinning wire from the transmission, it can use the same numbers for either unit.

On my vehicles with analog clusters the odometer is stuck in miles. The only thing I have found the odometer useful for when driving is knowing how far it is to my next destination. If I look at my directions and it says to continue for x miles I can glance at my odometer and do a little mental math to figure out what the reading should be at my next way point. Assuming I can remember the number I came up with I can subtract it from the current reading to figure out how much further I have to go. I have several devices which can do this for me automatically now, some even give other useful information like which lane I should get into.

I understand the appeal of traveling light, but the selection of adapters I have acquired seems to counteract any benefit by the devices becoming thinner and lighter. My previous phone was sold as a ruggedized phone, now I have a flagship phone. I never felt the need to use a case with my rugged phone, the flagship phone is in a case that makes it just as thick as the phone it replaced. The latest version of the rugged phone still has a headphone port. What is gained if the phone is losing features to be thin and light if it needs to go into a case which brings the bulk back?
